Introducing Temprix

Temprix is now available. It records each person's availability as a share of their working day, adds it up into a coverage number for every day ahead, and tells you before that number drops below what your team needs. Here is what the first release includes, and how we plan to decide what comes next.

Temprix is a capacity planning tool for support and operations teams. It is built around a question that a shared calendar does not answer well: how many people will actually be available on a given day, a few weeks from now.

A roster tells you how many people are on a team. It does not tell you how many of them are on leave that week, in training, on call, or splitting their time with another project. Temprix records those things as availability, adds them up for each day, and gives you one number to plan against.

Availability, recorded as a value

Every event on the timeline carries an availability value, so a person can be fully available, away, or somewhere in between. Someone in training for the morning or on a half-time secondment counts for what they can actually contribute.

  • A shared timeline for each team, with members as rows and days as columns
  • Event categories and types with a default availability, which each team can extend
  • Recurring events for standing commitments
  • Group events for public holidays and office closures, applied by country, region, or locality
  • Working days and a baseline availability for each member, for part-time and split roles

Coverage, for every day ahead

Coverage is the sum of everyone’s availability on a given day, expressed in people. A team of fifteen might have 8.8 people available on the 27th, and that is the number Temprix shows you.

  • Coverage Outlook plots the days ahead against a target you set and marks where coverage falls below it
  • The team overview summarises today, this week, and next week
  • Coverage alerts check the number on a schedule and email you when a gap appears, grows, or clears (Standard and Business plans)

Reports, and the record behind them

Reports show how a period was spent, for the team and for each person, and changes to a workspace are recorded in an audit log.

  • Time Distribution for the team, with Member Time Breakdown and Member Events for one person
  • An Activity report for each team and a workspace audit log, kept for 6 months on Free and without a limit on paid plans
  • CSV export from every report, on every plan

Your data, where you choose and within reach

When you create a workspace you choose where its data is stored, in the EU or in the US, and it stays there. The GraphQL API is the same one the product itself runs on. It is available on every plan through workspace-scoped API keys, which are read-only by default.

Free to start

Temprix is free for teams of up to 10 members, with every report included. Paid plans remove the member limit and add coverage alerts and role enforcement. The details are on the pricing page.

This is a starting point

This release is a first version, and we mean that plainly. Capacity planning looks different from one team to the next. A support team covering three time zones, an operations desk running an on-call rotation, and a services team balancing client work all ask the same question, and each needs something different around the answer: different rules, different reports, different places for the numbers to end up.

Software like this can be shaped in many directions. We would rather choose the direction together with the people using it than guess on their behalf. We have ideas about what to build next, and we hold them loosely. What you tell us about how your team plans, where Temprix fits, and where it falls short will decide what gets built and in what order.

If something is missing, awkward, or simply not how your team works, tell us. We read every message. Improvements will be posted here as they ship, and you can follow along via RSS.
